It’s official, International Dark Sky Week has begun! We are over the moon (and stars!) to kick off this week of celebration. A huge THANK YOU to the City Council of Port Angeles for recognizing the importance of our night skies with an official proclamation marking April 13-20 as Internation Dark Sky Week in Port Angeles.

Whether you’re a backyard stargazer, a wildlife enthusiest, or just into good health, our dark skies are a natural resource worth protecting. From disoriented migrating birds to our own sleep cycles, light pollution affects us all.

This week, let’s GO DARK together! We have tips here on the website on how to use the Five Principles for Responsible Outdoor Lighting to make your home more night-sky friendly, home assessments, and much more.
