Night Magic Treks at Railroad Bridge Park

May 8 @ 8:30 pm9:30 pm

Join us for a one-mile trek to discover the benefits of natural night skies for our well-being and the animals that need darkness to thrive. Each trek is co-led by a team of three: an astronomer, a storyteller, and a naturalist. Together, they will showcase the beauty of the night and address the fear of darkness. How can we challenge the notion that we cannot “see” in the dark? What organisms need darkness to thrive? How can we preserve natural dark in our homes and communities?

Meet in the plaza by the large mural around 8:30pm. We will start just after sunset to allow our eyes to adjust to the coming dark naturally. Binoculars are useful if skies are clear; red-light headlamps or flashlights are preferred.
